The LVN supports the prescribing Physicians and NP's, is responsible for obtaining vital signs, weight, height, BMI, recording information in the electronic medical record, and staging medication consents, rooming patients and assisting with medical procedures. The LVN is responsible for refilling medications, assisting with phone calls, office, and clinic flow, and obtaining medication authorizations to ensure no lapse in prescriptions. The LVN will also provide education on nutrition, medications, diagnosis, and other health related concerns, giving injections, performing venipuncture, administering urine drug screens, pregnancy tests, and other point of care testing in the clinic. In addition, the LVN will assist in the coordination of the delivery of clinical and nursing care for primary care and behavioral health services and will perform responsible nursing work in the assigned locations and is responsible for the care and treatment of individuals in accordance with accepted professional, legal and ethical nursing standards. The person chosen for this position is responsible for adhering to all agency policies and procedures and reporting to work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, and may also support other clinics in times of need due to staffing shortages.
