Job Description

Transitions Through Motion, a public charity offering equine assisted occupational therapy and adaptive riding, is seeking an experienced horse handler to provide chore support. Successful candidates will join a dedicated team to care for 6-8 horses. TTM is an equal opportunity employer who prioritizes inclusion and safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and administer feed and hay
  • Ensure water buckets and water troughs are clean and full
  • Handle horses for turn in / turn out
  • Observe and note changes in horse's appetite, disposition, habits and/or disposition
  • Cleans and maintains the stalls, aisles, and paddocks
  • Change blankets, sheets and fly masks as weather warrants at turn in/turn out
  • Other duties may assigned
Position Specifics:
Must have extensive horse care and horsemanship skills, more than 6 years experience This position will have a combination of set schedule and additional shift opportunities. Hours are not guaranteed. Max of 20 hours/wk Regular, punctual attendance is required, holidays may be required
Location:
Hatfield, MA Minimal Position Qualifications:
Physically fit to be able to lift up to 45lbs Organized Work on your feet for extended periods of time Working as a team member in a dynamic environment Knowledge of the care, feeding, and characteristics of horses, as well as illnesses and injuries particular to horses. Access to a computer with internet access and a browser and the knowledge and skills to engage with documents hosted in Google Sheets, Google Forms, and Google docs within Google Drive Experience with hard physical labor Able to follow written and verbal directions. Ability to adhere to safety policies, procedures, and guidelines. Ability to understand written and oral instructions. Ability to work independently
Pay:
From $15.00 per hour People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply
