Assigns, directs, and supervises the work of personnel executing ammunition inspections, explosive handling, and transportion operions. Plans the use of personnel, equipment, facilities and merial on a daily, week-to-week and/or month-to-month basis. Establishes and sets deadlines, priorities, work sequences, milestones, and work assignments. Develops work methods, establishes procedures, and explains work requirements to subordines. Assigns work and formules operional processes and procedures in accordance with guidance established by higher headquarters via army regulions, Department of the Army (DA) Pamphlets, Nional Guard Bureau (NGB) directives, local Standard Opering Procedures (SOPs), policies and procedures, Technical Manuals, schemics, and other reled directives. Determines the man-hours, cost estimes, number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects. Assigns individual workers and resources to accomplish planned, and ad-hoc work. Exercises authority to maintain and balance workload; shifts assignments, workers and other resources to achieve the most effective and efficient work operions. Instructs subordines in existing and ste of the art ammunition and explosives inspection methods and provides advice and consultion when issues arise. Reviews and analyzes work accomplishments, cost and utilizion of subordines to evalue work progress, control costs and anticipes and avoids possible problems by recommending corrective action. Participes with management officials and/or other key personnel to develop qualitive and/or quantitive work standards. Evalues work operions and reviews completed work, inspection reports, and production control da to valide standards and timelines are met. Coordines with other supervisors, organizions, or work groups to ensure work requirements are established and achieved; collaborion occurs from end-to-end. Informs higher level supervisor of the need to amend work schedules and initie planning of current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs, training requirements, and allocion of assets, estimes, and recommendions as to scheduling projected work. Plans the allocion of resources and the distribution of work as well as determines the internal plan to be followed by subordines in applying resources to accomplish work operions. Evalues resources required to accomplish the proposed work packages or programs in relion to the resources committed to ongoing and previously scheduled work operions and recommends changes to superiors concerning previously planned work schedules. Participes fully with higher level management officials and staff organizions in studying and developing recommendions concerning changes in specificions, requirements, work techniques and standards; revisions to organizional structures, responsibilities and relionships; and improvement or modernizion of equipment, facility layout and workflow. Analyzes work plans and monitors the stus of work in relion to the overall schedule requirement, including unanticiped or emergency requirements. (40%) 2.Work Direction:
Investiges, documents, and reports work-reled problems, incidents, and accidents, determines causes, and implements corrective actions within deleged authority to resolve work problems such as safety hazards, equipment deficiencies, and/or problems resulting in low productivity. Continuously reviews operions in order to maximize efficiency and effectiveness, with special emphasis on safety, security, and environmental concerns. As necessary, suggests solutions and or implements corrective actions to resolve reled problems in work operions directed by other supervisors. Ensures all maintenance and calibrion requirements are achieved within specified timeframes. (30%) 3.Administrion:
Develops performance standards, counsels' employees on performance, and completes interim performance and finalize formal and informal performance appraisals. Inities recommendions for promotions or reassignment of subordines, as well as performance awards. Counsels employees on problems and adjudices informal complaints through discussions with employees and superiors. Partners with labor representives to resolve issues the lowest possible level. Inities formal disciplinary action as needed, identifies employees' training needs, and inities recommendions to provide necessary training. Schedules and approves leave of subordines. Promotes the participion of employees in special emphasis programs, such as, the suggestion program, cost reduction, environmental, safety, etc. Performs other duties as assigned. Must complete a Training and Certificion Program for personnel working in ammunition operions. Incumbent must possess and maintain a current ste driver's license. Must perform TDY in conjunction with duties. This position is subject to the Lautenberg amendment to the gun control act of 1968 which makes it a felony for anyone who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence to ship, transport, possess, or receive firearms or ammunition. Technical knowledge of a variety of ammunition. May require knowledge of detonion and burning methods and procedures for the destruction of ammunition and explosives. Must be able to read, understand and research technical drawings, specificions, da sheets, serviceability standards, and technical manuals and references for ammunition and explosive items. Must have knowledge of regulions and standards for safety in receiving, shipping, storing, and handling of ammunition and explosives. Knowledge of inspection criteria reled to commercial and military vehicles for unsafe mechanical conditions prior to loading with ammunition and explosives. Knowledge of environmental rules and regulions to ensure the Ammunition Supply Point has no infractions. Ability to recognize the various munitions and explosives to apply the proper procedure for inspecting. May require the ability to respond to unforeseen or emergency situions and be able to make immedie responses to emergency situions, determine the correct course of action to mitige the problem. Ability to opere motor vehicles and forklifts for loading/unloading, transportion, and storage of Ammunition and Explosive merials. In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstres the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience th provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstres the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communice knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes.
