Job Title:
Production Operator - 1st Shift Job Description The Production Operator sets up, operates, and monitors bagging, packaging, and spray drying equipment to safely and efficiently process products in a GMP-regulated environment. This role involves working on a fast-paced production line, handling materials, and ensuring that finished products meet quality and safety standards. Responsibilities Operate bagging and packaging machines to accurately fill, seal, and label products according to production requirements. Bag finished product and palletize it safely and efficiently for storage and shipment. Set up and operate various types of equipment used in the spray drying process after receiving proper training. Monitor equipment during operation to ensure proper functioning, product quality, and adherence to GMP standards. Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) while handling, mixing, and blending materials, including soy and wheat products. Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with GMP and safety guidelines. Read and follow written instructions, production records, and labels, and legibly complete required documentation in English. Work safely on elevated work platforms up to 30 feet above ground level when required. Perform tasks in confined spaces as needed, following all safety procedures and training. Stand on feet for extended periods during the shift while performing production and machine operating duties. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals and resolve basic equipment or process issues. Adhere to all safety, quality, and operational procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment. Essential Skills At least 1 year of general production or machine operating experience. At least 1 year of experience working in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) environment. Experience with mixing and blending processes in a production setting. Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time during the shift. Ability to work in confined spaces in accordance with safety procedures. Ability to work up to 30 feet above ground on elevated work platforms. Ability to read and legibly write in English to follow instructions and complete documentation. Availability to work on weekends when production needs require it. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in general production, machine operation, or related manufacturing roles. Familiarity with GMP standards in food or similar regulated environments. Comfort working with soy and wheat products. Attention to detail and commitment to product quality and safety. Work Environment This is a full-time, 1st shift position with hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The role is based in a GMP-regulated production facility that processes soy and wheat products. Team members work on their feet for most of the shift and may work in confined spaces or on elevated platforms up to 30 feet above ground. The environment requires adherence to strict hygiene and safety standards, including wearing a hair net, beard net (if applicable), non-slip steel toe shoes, smocks, and gloves. The facility operates with structured procedures and quality controls to ensure product safety and regulatory compliance. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waukesha, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
