Job Title:
Machine Operator Job Description This role operates and sets up breading machines in a food and beverage manufacturing environment, ensuring consistent product quality and safe, efficient production. You will troubleshoot machinery issues, perform basic repairs, and carry out start-up and cleaning procedures in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Responsibilities Operate breading machines safely and efficiently in a food and beverage manufacturing facility. Set up breading machines for production runs, including adjusting settings and preparing materials as required. Monitor machine performance during operation to maintain consistent product quality and throughput. Troubleshoot machinery issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules. Perform basic machine repairs and adjustments to keep equipment in proper working condition. Conduct machine start-up procedures at the beginning of shifts or production runs. Clean and sanitize machines and surrounding work areas in accordance with GMP and food safety standards. Follow all FDA and GMP guidelines and internal procedures related to food and beverage manufacturing. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to report issues, share information, and support continuous improvement. Maintain accurate documentation related to machine operation, cleaning, and basic maintenance as required. Essential Skills At least 5 years of machine operation experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Hands-on experience operating and setting up production machinery, preferably breading or similar equipment. Troubleshooting experience with production or processing machinery. Familiarity with food and beverage manufacturing processes. Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety standards. Ability to perform basic mechanical repairs and adjustments on machinery. Capability to follow written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures. Strong attention to detail to ensure consistent product quality and safe operation. Ability to work effectively in an indoor manufacturing environment handling seafood products. Additional Skills & Qualifications Food and beverage manufacturing experience under FDA and GMP guidelines preferred. Experience working with seafood products or similar food processing operations is an advantage. Comfort working in an environment where English is used; understanding of English is preferred. Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues. Reliability and commitment to long-term employment in a stable manufacturing setting. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Petersburg, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
