Job Description

Job Summary:
The purpose of this position is to contribute to a productive work environment by properly operating machinery to produce quality parts that will be used on our trailers. Essential Functions Safely operate the parts department equipment including: press brake, shear, plasma table, plasma cutter, parts tumbler, and drill press to produce quality parts according to specifications. Accurately read and interpret blueprints and work orders in order to build parts to specifications. Efficiently schedule manufacturing of parts based on priority of work orders coming through. Type correct parts into cut and press programs to ensure accurate parts are made. Use grinder to clean parts as needed. Check all parts visually for any defects and ensure all parts meet quality standards. Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move sheet metal and deliver parts to other work areas as needed. Work with maintenance and engineering if problems with any programming or equipment occur and support the trouble-shooting process as needed. Accurately take inventory and report numbers to purchasing to ensure the correct number of parts are being tracked throughout the system. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment. Assist in other areas and perform other duties, as needed. (This is not intended to be a comprehensive list of activities, duties, or responsibilities required for this job.) Qualifications and Requirements High School Diploma or GED preferred or other equivalent and relevant demonstrated skills and experience. Must be able to maintain safety while working effectively and efficiently. Must be able to maintain a clean and organized working environment. Must have basic computer skills to enter parts into computer programming. Must be forklift certified through Novae.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 80 lbs. on a regular basis. Must be able to assist another person in lifting anything over 80 lbs. as needed. Must be able to bend, stoop, and squat regularly. Must be able to be on feet for extended periods of time. Must be able to wear all required PPE for the position, including but not limited to safety glasses, face shield, and steel-toe footwear. Will be exposed to dust, dirt, and other debris.
