Machine Shop Supervisor Job Description As a Machine Shop Supervisor, you will lead and develop a team of 5-6 machinists specializing in CNC turning and milling operations. This role requires owning CNC programming responsibilities using Mastercam for both lathe and mill operations, driving quality and throughput on Doosan lathes with Fanuc controls and Haas mills, and managing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) efficiently. You will supervise a press brake operator managing Cincinnati and other press brakes, without needing programming knowledge, and navigate the in-house ERP system for scheduling, work orders, and job tracking. Responsibilities Lead and develop a team of 5-6 machinists across CNC turning and milling operations. Own CNC programming responsibilities in Mastercam for lathe and mill operations. Drive quality and throughput on Doosan lathes (Fanuc) and Haas mills. Manage and process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) in a timely, organized manner. Supervise a press brake operator running Cincinnati and other press brakes. Utilize the company's in-house ERP system for scheduling, work orders, and job tracking. Partner with engineering and operations teams to maintain workflow continuity and meet production targets. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce scrap, and elevate shop floor standards. Essential Skills Experience in a CNC machining environment (turning and milling). Proficiency in Mastercam for programming. Prior supervisory or lead experience managing machinists. Comfortable with Fanuc and/or Haas control platforms. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T. Experience managing or processing ECOs. Strong organizational and communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Radan nesting experience for laser operations. Familiarity with press brake operations and sheet metal workflows. Background with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment. A continuous improvement mindset — lean, 5S, or equivalent experience is a plus. Why Work Here? The position is primarily on the first shift from 6 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, with optional hours on Fridays.
