Job Purpose:

Performs skilled tasks using a variety of tools to construct, modify, maintain, calibrate and repair machine shop tools, dies, jigs and fixtures. Works from blueprints, databases, specifications and diagrams. Checks work with precision instruments.

Nature of Duties:

 Set-up and operate basic machine tools and equipment, use various hand tools and precision measuring instruments common to the trade.  Make special cutters and mills, dress grinding wheels as needed.  PM, clean, and prepare plastic injection molds for production.  Check-in/clean/document/and prepare new tools for sample.  Make ejector pins, core pins, make gate changes, K.O. bars, clean and polish mold cavities.  Basic computer skills needed.  Other related duties as assigned -assist machinists and tool and die makers as instructed.  Adhere to general shop cleanliness and organizational guidelines.

Education and Experience:
