Machinist Trainee Manual Lathe Pay:

Our machining work primarily supports the service and repair of hydraulic components, rework operations, and low-quantity detail machining. Responsibilities Learn to operate manual lathes under the guidance of experienced machinists Assist with large lathe turning, thread turning, tooling setup, and basic machine maintenance Develop skills in reading and interpreting machining prints and specifications Learn to measure, maintain, and verify tolerances using precision measuring instruments Support complementary machining operations such as milling, drilling, surface grinding, and basic welding (as training progresses) Follow all safety procedures and quality standards Qualifications Basic machining knowledge or formal trade school coursework preferred Mechanical aptitude and strong interest in machining and manufacturing Willingness to learn manual lathe operation and machining fundamentals Ability to read basic blueprints or a desire to learn Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work Dependable, motivated, and professional work ethic Training & Growth Opportunities Hands-on, in-house training provided by experienced staff Full reimbursement for relevant trade schooling (encouraged) Opportunity to expand skills into other machining disciplines Clear path for advancement into skilled machinist roles, and potentially management or leadership positions for motivated individuals Compensation & Benefits Bear is a growing company that values both customer satisfaction and employee longevity.
