Job Description:
Hotel Maintenance Assistant Position Summary The Hotel Maintenance Assistant supports the upkeep, repair, and safe operation of all hotel facilities, equipment, and systems. This role ensures that guests experience a comfortable, functional, and safe environment by performing routine maintenance tasks, responding to repair requests, and assisting the maintenance team with preventive maintenance programs. Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily inspections of hotel facilities, including guest rooms, common areas, and back-of-house spaces.
  • Carry out basic repairs and maintenance tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and painting.
  • Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Assist in preventive maintenance programs to minimize breakdowns and extend equipment life.
  • Ensure safety standards and procedures are followed, including compliance with fire, health, and building regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, tools, and supplies.
  • Support contractors and vendors during specialized repair projects.
  • Monitor and maintain hotel equipment, including elevators, laundry systems, and kitchen appliances.
  • Report hazards, damages, or major repair needs to the Maintenance Supervisor or Chief Engineer.
  • Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary tools and supplies. Qualifications
  • Previous maintenance experience preferred, ideally in a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Good communication skills and a guest-focused attitude.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Physically able to lift, carry, climb, and perform hands-on repair tasks. Working Conditions
  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Frequent interaction with hotel guests, requiring professionalism and courtesy.
  • May involve standing for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, and working in confined spaces. Benefits
