Job Description

The Aircraft Mechanic I performs maintenance, repair, and alterations on aircraft and components in accordance with OEM publications and under strict FAA regulations. This entry-level position focuses on basic tasks with moderate supervision and on-the-job training to learn more complex duties. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, inspecting, and repairing airframe, engine, and avionics systems, maintaining thorough documentation, and ensuring all work complies with safety and quality standards to certify aircraft for return to service. This position is contingent on successful contract award to V2X.
Responsibilities Key Responsibilities:
Perform basic maintenance, inspections, and repairs on aircraft and components under supervision. Assist in troubleshooting airframe, engine, and avionics systems to identify discrepancies. Follow OEM manuals and FAA regulations for all maintenance tasks. Document maintenance actions accurately and completely in compliance with company and regulatory standards. Support functional and operational checks to verify airworthiness. Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with OSHA and company policies. Participate in on-the-job training to develop skills for more complex maintenance tasks. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure timely completion of work orders. Adhere to all safety protocols and quality standards.
Work Conditions:
Contingent upon contract award. Work performed in hangar and flight line environments with exposure to noise and moving machinery. May require overtime, shift work, and weekend support during peak operational periods. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in varying weather conditions.
Qualifications Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent; technical school or military aviation maintenance training preferred. FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification required. 1+ years of aircraft maintenance experience or equivalent training. Basic understanding of FAA regulations and maintenance practices. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and work instructions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Army aviation or military aircraft maintenance operations. Familiarity with GCSS-Army, ULLS-A(E), or similar maintenance management systems. Knowledge of
AS9110 / ISO 9001
quality standards. OEM-specific maintenance training or certifications.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work under supervision and follow instructions. Effective communication and documentation skills. Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs. and working in confined spaces.
Certifications & Training:
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification (required). OEM-specific maintenance training (preferred). OSHA safety training (preferred). Hazmat handling and shipping awareness (preferred).
Clearance Requirement:
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance as required by the contract (Public Trust or Secret level, as applicable).
