Job Description

This is an off-wing aircraft component structural repair role. It is not a line maintenance, avionics, general mechanic, or production assembly position. We are an established aviation repair business with a long operating history and a stable, day-shift work environment.

It is not a line maintenance, avionics, general mechanic, or production assembly position. About the Role Lead-level, hands-on aircraft structures technician focused on off-wing component repair using approved technical data, disciplined documentation, and precise workmanship. What You'll Do Component structural repair & fabrication: Inspect and classify damage, determine appropriate repair procedures, and repair metallic components and composite assemblies (e.g., cowlings, access doors, fairings, control-surface panels, ducting, honeycomb/core panels) per approved technical data and drawings (SRM, CMM, service bulletins, RS-DER instructions). Precision drilling & fastening: Drill/ream/countersink/dimple; install solid and blind rivets, Hi-Lok, nutplates, and threaded inserts.
Cold forming:
Cold form dents and deformations out of metallic components strictly per approved technical data and drawings. Materials & surface prep: Mix/apply sealants, aerodynamic smoothing compounds, adhesives, primers, corrosion inhibitors, and composite resins; limited touch-up painting. Tooling & measurement: Operate brakes, shears, presses, stretch-formers, and rotary-powered hand tools; use calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges as assigned.
Technical execution:
Work strictly to approved technical data and drawings; escalate unclear instructions or deviations to the Repair Manager/Engineering/Quality. Flow & care of assets: Support one-part flow, on-demand, in-sequence; maintain tools and equipment; keep a clean 5S station; fabricate/repair jigs, fixtures, and forming blocks. What You'll Bring Experience & leadership: Minimum of 3 years of verified aircraft structural repair experience at a journeyman/Tech II level or equivalent. Prior lead, mentoring, or supervisory training is required or must be completed as part of placement into the Tech III role.
Credential:
FAA Repairman Certificate or Airframe License required. Military aircraft structural repair experience, including MOS 15G or AFSC 2A7X3, will be recognized as equivalent experience where applicable.
Regulatory fluency:
Working knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 43, 65, and 145; apply approved technical data and drawings; ensure accurate, compliant work-order documentation.
Technical knowledge:
Strong understanding of metal characteristics (alloy/temper, thickness/gauge, grain direction, corrosion behavior) and composite materials used in regional-airline components.
Demonstrated mastery:
Performs full scope with only spot-check verification; understands why each task/step is required and when it must be done; analyzes facts and principles to reach sound technical conclusions. Work Environment & Safety On-site in an FAA-certified repair-station environment. Exposure to machinery, solvents/adhesives/paints, noise, fumes, and variable temperatures. PPE required (eye/hearing/respiratory/gloves) per
FAA/OSHA.
May require standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs. U.S. work authorization, pre-employment background check, and DOT/FAA-compliant drug test required; ongoing participation in the FAA/DOT Anti-Drug & Alcohol program is mandatory.
