This role involves preparing surfaces, applying adhesive-backed laminates, trimming and finishing materials, and ensuring all work meets customer specifications, aerospace quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Apply decorative laminates, veneers, and specialty films to aircraft interior components including cabinets, sidewalls, bulkheads, galleys, lavatories, and monuments. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, and inspecting substrates prior to laminate installation. Measure, cut, fit, and trim laminate materials according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and customer specifications. Use hand tools and specialized equipment to ensure proper alignment and adhesion of laminate materials. Remove and replace damaged or worn laminate surfaces during refurbishment and modification projects. Perform edge finishing, touch-up work, and cosmetic repairs to maintain high-quality appearance standards. Inspect completed work for bubbles, wrinkles, gaps, delamination, scratches, and other cosmetic defects. Read and interpret blueprints, interior finish drawings, and technical work instructions. Maintain compliance with FAA regulations, company procedures, and customer quality requirements. Properly handle adhesives, solvents, and finishing materials in accordance with safety procedures. Complete production and inspection documentation accurately and timely. Work collaboratively with cabinetmakers, interior technicians, painters, upholsterers, and quality inspectors. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Minimum 1-3 years of experience in laminate installation, cabinetry, woodworking, furniture finishing, aircraft interiors, or related field. Experience working with decorative laminates, adhesive-backed films, veneers, or similar surface materials. Ability to read measuring devices and perform precise layout and cutting operations. Skilled in the use of hand tools, trimming tools, routers, and finishing equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality cosmetic finishes. Ability to follow written instructions and technical drawings. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in aircraft interior completion, refurbishment, or maintenance environments. Familiarity with VIP, corporate, commercial, or military aircraft interiors. Knowledge of aerospace quality standards and documentation requirements. Experience with high-end cabinetry, custom furniture, or architectural millwork finishes. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in confined aircraft interior spaces. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to perform repetitive hand movements and precision detail work. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
