Aircraft Maintenance Technician Please reach out to Emma 843 972 1999 Job Description The Aircraft Maintenance Technician maintains and repairs avionic and mechanical equipment to keep seaplanes safe, reliable, and airworthy. This role inspects, troubleshoots, and services structural, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and basic avionic systems, ensuring all work meets Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standards and approved maintenance procedures. Responsibilities Perform routine and non-routine inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on aircraft systems and components. Maintain and repair structural, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and basic avionic systems on seaplanes and related aircraft. Inspect aircraft components for wear, damage, or defects and determine whether parts require repair, overhaul, or replacement. Replace or repair aircraft parts and assemblies in accordance with approved maintenance manuals, technical data, and FAA standards. Use a wide variety of diagnostic equipment, computers, hand tools, and mechanical tools to evaluate and resolve aircraft discrepancies. Read and interpret maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings to perform accurate and compliant repairs. Apply strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to quickly identify issues and implement effective corrective actions. Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory procedures to maintain compliance with FAA regulations and internal maintenance standards. Document maintenance actions clearly and accurately in accordance with applicable maintenance documentation requirements. Work collaboratively with other technicians and team members in a hangar environment to support ongoing aircraft operations. Essential Skills Prior experience working as an Aircraft Mechanic or Aircraft Maintenance Technician. Strong working knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems and standard maintenance practices. Familiarity with FAA regulations and aircraft maintenance documentation requirements. Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings. Proficiency in troubleshooting aircraft systems and resolving mechanical and basic avionic issues. Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance in all maintenance activities. Ability to use diagnostic equipment, computers, hand tools, and mechanical tools for aircraft inspection and repair. Reliable, self-motivated work style with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs comfortably and continuously. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces for extended periods. Capability to work on ladders, platforms, and aircraft surfaces as required by maintenance tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic background or experience performing A&P-related duties. Experience with line maintenance and heavy maintenance on aircraft. Hands-on experience with aircraft maintenance repair across airframe and powerplant systems. Troubleshooting experience on seaplanes and related aircraft types. Experience working on Cessna or similar aircraft platforms. Strong general aircraft maintenance background, including inspection, repair, and overhaul activities. Work Environment This is a contract position based in a hangar environment in the FLL area, working primarily on seaplanes and related aircraft. The role operates on a second shift from 4:00 p.m. to midnight, supporting ongoing maintenance and operational needs. You will work with diagnostic equipment, computers, hand tools, and mechanical tools while performing inspections and repairs on aircraft in and around the hangar. The position requires frequent standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in confined spaces, as well as working on ladders, platforms, and aircraft surfaces. Per diem is available for individuals whose primary residence is more than 75 miles from the primary work site. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $54.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
