Aircraft Composite Technician Miami Lakes, FL 33014 $32 an hour - Full-time $32 an hour - Full-time Job Overview Join our dynamic team as an Aircraft Composite Technician and become a vital part of the aviation industry's cutting-edge manufacturing and maintenance operations. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, repairing, and inspecting composite components used in aircraft structures, ensuring all work meets rigorous safety and quality standards. Your expertise will contribute to the production of lightweight, durable aircraft parts that uphold the highest levels of performance and safety. Responsibilities Fabricate, assemble, and repair composite aircraft components using advanced techniques such as layup, curing, sanding, and finishing. Interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) models to accurately produce parts that meet design specifications. Conduct root cause analysis on manufacturing defects or component failures to identify underlying issues and implement corrective actions. Operate precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other tools to verify dimensions and quality standards. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and heavy lifting techniques to perform fabrication and assembly tasks safely and efficiently. Follow strict compliance with industry standards such as AS9100 (Quality Management System for aerospace) and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) governing aircraft maintenance and manufacturing. Document all work activities accurately within the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for traceability and quality assurance. Perform inspections using schematics, electrical diagrams, avionics layouts, and sheet metal drawings to ensure components meet all specifications. Assist with equipment repair, calibration of precision instruments like ammeters and ohmmeters, and maintenance of manufacturing tools to ensure optimal operation. Support heavy lifting operations with appropriate safety procedures while maintaining a focus on efficiency and quality. Requirements Proven experience in aircraft maintenance or manufacturing environments with a focus on composites or sheet metal fabrication. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience related to avionics systems or vehicle maintenance. Proficiency in CAD software such as CATIA or AutoCAD for interpreting design drawings and schematics. Familiarity with industry standards including AS9100 quality management systems and FAA regulations governing aviation safety. Ability to perform root cause analysis on complex issues affecting composite parts or assembly processes. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, calipers, micrometers, ammeters, ohmmeters, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Experience working with military-grade components or systems is a plus but not required. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during fabrication tasks. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to equipment repair and process improvement.
