Health insurance; 401(k) with company matching (after year one); paid holidays; paid time off and paid vacation (after year one); unpaid sick leave options; structured career progression program with significant advancement potential Job Summary Take end-to-end ownership of avionics installations, inspections, and system maintenance across a diverse general aviation fleet—singles, light twins, and corporate jets. Working within a high-efficiency repair station environment, this role demands a quality-first mindset, solid FAR knowledge, and hands-on fluency with leading avionics platforms. Every aircraft that leaves the shop reflects the standard you hold. Key Responsibilities Execute complete avionics installations from initial planning through final sign-off on a broad range of general aviation aircraft Perform 24-month IFR/VFR inspections and scheduled maintenance within established timeframe estimates Interface with aircraft computer systems to carry out software updates and critical database upgrades Follow OEM installation manuals and Repair Station procedures to maintain full FAA compliance on every work order Assess damaged components against manufacturer manuals and service bulletins to determine the most appropriate repair or replacement course of action Keep accurate work logs and submit daily End-of-Day (EOD) reports to the management team Minimum Requirements Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience as an avionics technician in a general aviation environment Technical proficiency with avionics platforms including Garmin, L3, Avidyne, and Aspen Strong working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and OEM technical documentation Must own personal tools and a personal toolbox High school diploma or GED Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and sustaining bending, stooping, kneeling, and extended standing; comfortable working in environments with noise levels exceeding 85 dB (safety equipment provided) Professional references required and will be verified prior to placement Ideal Qualifications Airframe or A&P license — a meaningful differentiator, though not required Practical aircraft-specific experience with Cessna, Piper, Beech, and Cirrus platforms across both piston and turbine variants General aircraft maintenance background beyond avionics Elevate Your Career Apply for this Avionics Technician position and let Rio Staffing represent you to our network of leading aviation and aerospace clients.
