AIRCRAFT STRUCTURAL MECHANIC/ INSTALLER/ MODIFICATIONS VISION

Advanced Structural technician overview:
The technician will be responsible for completing assigned tasks in a timely manner while adhering to quality standards. The technician must have experience with aircraft manufacturing or structural repairs. Must be knowledgeable of sheet metal structural aircraft hardware and material standards.
Technician duties:
Must be available to work a standard weekly schedule with overtime as required. Demonstrate capability and competency in field of expertise. Ensure work environment is safe and clean. Demonstrate ability to work well with other individuals throughout the organization.
- Confidently read and interpret large blueprint packages.
- Layout and mark precise reference points and locations for installation of parts or components, using jigs, templates, or tight tolerance calipers.
- Assemble prefabricated parts to form subassemblies.
- Fabricate parts needed for assembly or installation, using shop machinery and equipment i.
e., press brakes, drill presses, band saws, and shears. Perform other duties as assigned. Know requirements for electrical bonding.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 years' experience with structural sheet metal mechanic background.
- Commercial or military aircraft manufacturing/repair required.
- Able to measure components using 3 decimal place calipers.
- Knowledge of different hi-loks, rivets, and various other aircraft fasteners and materials.
- Knowledge of bend allowance and deduction for metal fabrication.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting complex structural blueprints Must be willing to travel.
- Eligible for a Security Clearance.
