- Must have 2+ years of dedicated fuel systems maintenance experience
- Sheet metal experience is a PLUS
- Aircraft Fuel System Mechanic - FAA Part 145

Director of Maintenance Duty Location:
Chicago, IL This position is responsible for inspection, repair and maintenance of aircraft fuel tanks and cells, and in-flight refueling systems. Complies with safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulations. Subject to rotating shift potential, providing coverage on off duty weekends, and supporting unit temporary duty assignments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Tank open and close as required by customers. Performs fuel leak evaluation, classification and repair including organic sealant removal, aircraft surface preparation and application of organic sealing compounds. Performs inspections, functional checks and preventive maintenance on assigned aircraft to include periodic, phase, hourly, calendar and special inspections. Performs unscheduled maintenance to include troubleshooting fuel system malfunctions, determining the extent and type of repair, and performing the necessary repairs to include the removal, installation, adjustment and operational checks of various fuel system components such as fuel lines, valves, pumps, and switches on assigned aircraft utilizing various test equipment. May be required to perform user and organizational level maintenance on assigned support equipment, including inspection, repair, modification. Completes all required documentation to include IMDS entries, aircraft and equipment maintenance forms and historical data. Prepares for, supports and participates in all applicable inspections and exercises. Performs additional shop duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Understand and properly complete repair station paperwork Use proper time management to ensure aircraft parts will be returned to service according to schedule Use of basic hand and power tools General shop duties Understands, reads and writes English.
