Examples of applicants are Nional Guard Members from another ste, Reservists, Active Duty Airmen, Service members from other branches, or civilians with or without prior service, who are willing and eligible for Indiana Air Nional Guard Membership Duties Help Troubleshoots malfunctioning engines and interreled propulsion system components, determines degree of disassembly or certificion required, repairs or replaces defective components, diagnostic computers and associed hardware. Troubleshoots, modifies, repairs, and performs sequential disassembly and assembly of gearboxes and auxiliary power units. Performs scheduled and special evaluions on installed engines, auxiliary power units, and associed airframe-mounted systems. Performs command directed and locally established in-progress inspections (IPI) (certifying acceptable performance of all conventional or modified aircraft engines prior to their being installed in the aircraft or placed in inventory) of propulsion system components and associed equipment to determine adequacy of workmanship, merials and maintenance. Requisitions, processes, and accounts for supply assets as required by the repairable processing system. Provides technical advice and troubleshooting expertise to other work centers when propulsion systems affect or are affected by interreled aircraft systems, such as: electro-environmental, pneudraulic, fuel and avionics systems. Examines recurring malfunctions and inities corrective actions by submission of quality deficiency or software deficiency reports. Serves as the hazardous merials manager as required. Interprets and follows ste and federal regulions regarding the reclamion, storage and transportion of hazardous merials. Prepares for and participes in various types of readiness evaluions such as Operional Readiness Inspections (ORI), Inspector General (IG) Inspections, Unit Effectiveness Inspections and mobility and command support exercises. Applicants who are not currently a member of the Nional Guard must be eligible for immedie membership and employment in the Nional Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigion. May be required to successfully complete a probionary period. Participion in direct deposit is mandory. Work assignments are performed indoors and outdoors in inclement weher; on icy, wet, and slippery ramps, aircraft surfaces, or work stands; and in extreme temperure and humidity. The incumbent is subject to dangers from toxic fumes, dust, dirt, grease, lubricants, paints, and solvents and is required to wear protective clothing when required. Dangers also involve high-pressure air and fluids, and fast actuing metal aircraft surfaces such as landing gear, speed brakes, and flaps. Work assignments are subject to engine noise, he blast, intake suction, roting propellers, explosive munitions, electrical voltage, cartridge actuing devices, liquid oxygen, and flammable and/ or explosive aircraft fuels, etc. There is frequent exposure to the possibility of cuts, burns, electrical shock, strains, and bone fractures. GENERAL EXPERIENCE
: Experience or training which demonstres the knowledge of mechanical maintenance work; ability to read and use technical manuals, illustrions, diagrams and schemics, and skill in the use of equipment and hand tools used in troubleshooting, testing, and repairing equipment.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
Experience or training removing, adjusting, replacing, cleaning, and installing parts, components, and accessories. Experience which provided working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic theory applying to powered support equipment and systems; and skill to replace, fit, install, and make adjustments. Experience which provided working knowledge of the makeup and operion of the various individual systems maintained and their interrelionships. Experience reading and interpreting parts lists, manufactures' repair manuals, diagrams, and electrical schemics.
