Job Description
AOG Travel MechanicPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced AOG Travel Mechanic to provide rapid-response field maintenance and repair support for airline operations, primarily on Boeing aircraft. The role requires deploying to aircraft on ground (AOG) events, diagnosing and repairing complex airframe and engine systems, coordinating logistics and parts, and completing accurate maintenance documentation while ensuring regulatory and safety compliance.
Key ResponsibilitiesRespond rapidly to AOG events and deploy to customer sites, often with short notice and international travel.
Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair aircraft systems including engines, airframe structures, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel, electrical and avionics systems.
Perform engine and powerplant tasks including removal/installation, ground runs, and post-maintenance checks.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics and technical orders.
Conduct borescope inspections and nondestructive testingComplete accurate maintenance documentation, technical logs and service reports in MRO/ERP systemsCoordinate parts sourcing, vendor relationships and ground support equipment operationSupport rapid-response field deployment logistics, including tools, calibration and consumables management.
Collaborate with operations, engineering and customer teams to restore aircraft to service safely and efficiently.
Qualifications5+ years airline and aircraft experience with demonstrated AOG response history.
Boeing aircraft preferred: 767, 777, 747 fleetAircraft mechanic certification: FAA Airframe & Powerplant required.
Hands-on experience in field/line maintenance, troubleshooting and rapid-response deployments.
Strong knowledge of engine and powerplant systems, jet engine removal/installation, and APU maintenance.
Experience with airframe structures, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, electrical and environmental control systems.
Proficient in borescope inspections - CFM, Pratt Whitney, or GE-90 engines.
Experience operating ground support equipment and following tooling, calibration and safety procedures.
Ability to work irregular hours, travel extensively, deploy at short notice and operate in diverse environments.
Strong communication skills in English, good teamwork, customer-focused attitude and attention to detail.
