United Stes Citizens Duties Help Duties & Responsibilities :
1. Independently inspects aircraft and determines the nure and extent of repairs to be made, using applicable technical orders as guidelines. Works directly on the aircraft and its components, fulfilling such tasks as removal, repair, modificion and installion of parts and assemblies, such as frames, stringers, longerons, bulkheads, beams, ribs, spars, skin, cowling, brackets, faring, access doors, panels and other reled items. May be required to clear red "X" conditions. 2. Repairs cracks in aircraft skin. Fabrices and fits pches to damaged areas, determining repair detail necessary to retain or restore original strength. Fits and trims components to aircraft such as landing gear doors, control surfaces, flaps access doors and other assemblies. Seals structures to make them pressure, wer and weher tight. (3) Troubleshoots aircraft structural repair situions in such areas as fuselage, tails, wings, cowlings, and stabilizers. Removes, forms, fits, and installs highly stressed and double contoured skins, using hand or powered drilling and cutting tools and other metal working equipment. Determines shear and bearing load factors during rivet replacement. Installs heads up, regular, he treed, high shear, and blind type aircraft rivets and fasteners, using pneumic riveters, special tools and bucking bars. Removes damaged or broken fasteners and receptacles. 3. Troubleshoots aircraft structural repair situions in such areas as fuselage, tails, wings, cowlings, and stabilizers. Removes, forms, fits, and installs highly stressed and double contoured skins, using hand or powered drilling and cutting tools and other metal working equipment. Determines shear and bearing load factors during rivet replacement. Installs heads up, regular, he treed, high shear, and blind type aircraft rivets and fasteners, using pneumic riveters, special tools and bucking bars. Removes damaged or broken fasteners and receptacles. 4. Aligns and balances component structures and airframe using precision measuring instruments and levels. Performs metal-to-metal bonding where delaminion of surfaces and core merial occurs in control surfaces. 5. Inspects damage or deteriorion and determines repair or replacement of plastic, fiberglass, composites, bonded structures, and bonded honeycomb assemblies using powered and nonpowered tools and equipment. Repairs or replaces retaining frames and installs plastic lamined blanks. Designs and constructs forming fixtures. 6. Assists to fabrice, modify, and assemble a variety of rotary wing aircraft and aircraft sheet metal structural parts, components, and portions of assemblies and systems. Supervisor or lead establishes specific work priorities. Supervisor, lead, or journey level mechanic spot checks completed work and checks work documents for accuracy and compliance with required maintenance and modificion. 7. Assists with lay outs and fabrices individual aircraft sheet metal parts from various sheet metals, extruded metal, honeycomb merial, composite merials and various other metal alloys. Assists in cutting, bending, forming merials using hand tools, powered tools, and computer numerically controlled machines (CNC) to include CNC 2D ptern cutting wer jets and CNC 2D ptern cutting lasers. Assembles formed parts. Assists in conducting hardness and conductivity testing to verify he tre condition of aluminum alloys. 8. Works with higher graded journey level sheet metal mechanics to accomplish larger and more complex operions. Attends on-the-job training on assigned projects and reled tasks to include classroom instruction as necessary. Processes and accounts for due-in supply assets. Ensures th merial and equipment are properly stored, protected, and maintained. May be required to serve on maintenance assistance teams through the supported region. 9. Prepares and designs layout, dies, jigs, and temples necessary to carry out fabricion repair or modificion of aircraft, engine, AGE, and other equipment. Works from blueprints, technical orders diagrams, and work orders. 10. Identifies metal corrosion. Performs necessary testing to identify type corrosion present by examinion with magnifying equipment, chemical and mechanical methods and tres aircraft engines, in accordance with applicable technical publicions. Ensures th work assignments received from supervisor or maintenance control are accomplished in a timely manner. 11. Removes corrosion by mechanical and chemical procedures to include use of portable powered (electric and pneumic) sanders, buffers, brushes, bead blasters, vacuum cleaners, scrapers, grinders, acids, caustics, solvents, alcohols and other agents used in corrosion control processes. Tres metal with chemical procedures, such as acids and caustics for passivion and etching, to protect metal from oxidion. 12. Performs other as duties as assigned. GENERAL EXPERIENCE
: Must possess experience or training th has provided the candide with the ability to plan, manufacture, and install cylindrical, square, or rectangular-shaped objects th have easily constructed fastenings such as single and double-hem edges and single, double or grooved seams.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
: (WG-08) Must possess least Twelve (12) months experience or training planning, manufacturing, and installing cylindrical, square, or rectangular-shaped objects th have easily constructed fastening; experience cutting and forming by using basic hand and powered tools such as hammers, chisels, hand snips, band and circle saws, squaring shears, seamers, bar folders, breaks, and stakes; experience assembling parts by seaming, bolting, screwing, riveting, tacking, spot-welding, or soldering; experience demonstring a basic understanding of using measuring instruments. (WG-10) Must possess least Eighteen (18) months experience or training performing standard, routine assembly and disassembly operions and making prescribed modificions to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories; experience or training performing maintenance overhaul, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft engines, engine components, and powertrains for fixed and/or rotary wing aircraft; experience determining maintenance needed from work orders, inspection reports, historical records, and diagnosis.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
: 1. This is an Army Nional Guard dual stus technician position which requires military membership. 2. Must be able to obtain and maintain the approprie security clearance of the position.
Irregular and/or overtime (compensory) hours may be required to support operional requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. 4. This is a Testing Designed Position TDP. The employee is subject to random drug testing. Pre-employment drug testing and participion in random drug testing is a condition of employment.
