Job Description

Aircraft Mechanic 3 Lake Charles, LA Per Diem will be offered to candidates who are located outside the 50 miles radius of this location. Multiple openings/shifts available Candidates must be clearance eligible
Pay:
$40.00 - $60.00 per hour Job Summary The Aircraft Mechanic III is responsible for performing advanced aircraft maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, repair, and modification activities on complex aircraft systems and components. This role supports aircraft maintenance operations through diagnostics, structural repairs, mechanical and electrical system maintenance, inspections, and technical support activities. The ideal candidate possesses extensive aircraft maintenance experience, strong technical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work safely within demanding aviation environments. Job Responsibilities Maintain, repair, and modify aircraft systems, components, and engines of advanced complexity Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, engineering specifications, schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical instructions Troubleshoot, inspect, repair, and replace aircraft mechanical and electrical components Perform maintenance on flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and related aircraft systems Conduct preflight, thru-flight, post-flight, periodic, phase, progressive, and hourly inspections Inspect aircraft engines and components for cracks, corrosion, wear, leaks, distortion, security issues, and foreign object damage Test engine operation using specialized aircraft diagnostic and calibration equipment Perform aircraft sheet metal and structural modification and repair activities Adjust, repair, and replace aircraft electrical wiring systems and accessories Assemble, modify, and install wire bundles, conductors, and electrical components Utilize specialized aircraft tools and precision measuring equipment including torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, and test equipment Service aircraft systems including lubrication, brake checks, filter cleaning, and fluid maintenance Supervise aircraft towing and jacking procedures as required Document maintenance activities within aircraft logs and maintenance records Provide technical guidance and support to lower-level technicians and maintenance personnel Collaborate with engineers, maintenance teams, and customers to resolve technical issues and support aircraft operations Follow all safety, regulatory, and operational procedures while working in maintenance environments Job Requirements High school diploma or GED required Minimum of 10 years of relevant aircraft maintenance experience required Strong knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems, troubleshooting procedures, and component replacement practices Basic knowledge of aircraft electrical theory and electrical systems maintenance Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams Experience using aircraft diagnostic tools, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments Ability to work in physically demanding environments and changing work locations as required Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in environments requiring respiratory or safety protection equipment Strong troubleshooting, communication, and technical problem-solving skills Ability to provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior technicians Flexibility to support multiple shifts as required Work Experience Previous experience supporting large aircraft maintenance operations preferred Experience with aircraft structural repair, engine maintenance, and aircraft system troubleshooting preferred Military or commercial aviation maintenance experience preferred FAA A&P License preferred Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance preferred Additional Job Details (Commute, Attendance, etc.) Position may support any shift based on operational needs Per diem is available only for candidates residing outside a 50-mile radius of the work location Per diem eligibility and rates are managed in accordance with applicable travel guidelines Position requires compliance with all safety and operational requirements within aviation maintenance environments
