Job Description

Salary range: AMT I (entry level) $36-$42 per hour• AMT II (mid-level) $42.31-$50 per hour• salary commensurate with experience Position Summary The Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) ensures Boston MedFlight aircraft are maintained in accordance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), manufacturer guidelines, and organizational policies. Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, the AMT performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, documents repairs, and supports operational readiness across all BMF aviation sites. This position is vital to ensuring airworthiness, safety, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Aircraft Maintenance and Compliance Maintain thorough knowledge of and compliance with FARs, Aeronautical Information Manual, BMF General Operations Manual (GOM), and Aircraft/Component Maintenance Manuals. Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs per applicable manuals and regulatory guidance. Accurately document discrepancies, repairs, and maintenance actions in compliance with regulatory and company standards. Maintain all assigned aircraft to airworthiness standards and ensure timely inspections and service. Parts, Scheduling, and Coordination Coordinate maintenance scheduling with the Director of Maintenance or designee. Order parts, tooling, and supplies through the Parts/Logistics Coordinator; manage related warranty claims. Maintain clean, safe, and organized maintenance workspaces in accordance with safety and regulatory requirements. Travel to BMF base sites as needed to support program-wide maintenance needs. Safety and Quality Assurance Identify and correct unsafe practices; report hazards to the Quality Assurance/Control Inspector or DOM. Participate in staff safety meetings when not on duty or required rest. Support the safe use of aircraft maintenance equipment, hand and power tools, and diagnostic instruments. On-Call and After-Hours Maintenance Perform after-hours, weekend, and holiday maintenance as needed or directed. Participate in on-call rotation per BMF policy and operational needs. Assist with maintenance-related duties outside of standard business hours when required. Other Duties Perform other related duties as assigned by aviation management. Consistently model Boston MedFlight's Core Values in all responsibilities and interactions. Minimum Qualifications Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) Certificate. Minimum two (2) years of turbine helicopter maintenance experience. Experience maintaining Airbus H145-D3 aircraft. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional aviation teams. Ability to travel between BMF sites and operate necessary maintenance equipment. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks on ladders and elevated work platforms. Working Conditions / Physical Demands Exposure to aircraft motion, vibration, jet fumes, noise, and extreme temperatures. Work is performed around helicopters and patient care environments, with potential exposure to infectious diseases and aviation-related chemicals. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces. May require extended periods of standing or sitting while performing maintenance tasks. Notes Must pass FBI and/or CORI background check prior to starting employment. PRIA records check, pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screen prior to hire. Participation in random drug and alcohol testing. This is a full-time, non-exempt position, eligible for overtime. Valid U.S. passport, Real ID-compliant driver's license, and authorization to work in the U.S. This position requires current COVID-19 and seasonal flu vaccinations, subject to medical or religious exemption requests.
