Position Overview Athena Aerospace is seeking an Entry-Level Aircraft Maintenance Technician to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone beginning a career in aviation maintenance who wants hands-on experience working alongside experienced A&P mechanics, inspectors, engineers, and certification specialists. You'll gain exposure to a wide variety of aircraft maintenance activities, restorations, modifications, avionics installations, and prototype/STC development projects. Every day presents a new challenge and an opportunity to learn. This is not an assembly-line maintenance position. You'll become part of a small, highly skilled team where your ideas are valued and your abilities will grow quickly. Responsibilities Assist licensed A&P mechanics with aircraft inspections and scheduled maintenance Perform basic servicing including oil changes, lubrication, tire and brake servicing, cleaning, and corrosion prevention Remove and install aircraft components under supervision Assist with troubleshooting mechanical and electrical discrepancies Support aircraft restoration and modernization projects Learn proper aircraft maintenance documentation and recordkeeping Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment Operate shop equipment and tools safely Assist with fabrication and modification projects as assigned Participate in continuous learning and on-the-job training Follow FAA regulations, manufacturer maintenance manuals, and company procedures at all times Demonstrate professionalism and a safety-first mindset Desired Skills We're looking for attitude and aptitude more than experience.
Ideal candidates possess:
Strong mechanical aptitude Excellent attention to detail Willingness to learn Positive attitude Strong work ethic Good communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Basic hand tool experience Ability to read technical drawings or willingness to learn Basic computer skills Pride in producing high-quality work Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED Valid driver's license Ability to lift 50 pounds Ability to work on ladders, stands, and in confined spaces Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening Ability to work in the United States Preferred (but not required): FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate Enrollment in or graduation from an FAA Part 147 Aviation Maintenance Technician School Previous mechanical, automotive, diesel, manufacturing, or military maintenance experience Aviation experience of any kind Private Pilot Certificate or aviation background No prior aircraft maintenance experience is required for the right candidate.
