Overview We are seeking a full-time Senior Aircraft Maintenance Technician in our Salem, OR location. In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine to complex aircraft maintenance activities, general aircraft servicing, and assist with various scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance including major repairs and alterations, while mentoring Aircraft Maintenance Technician 1 and 2 associates.
Core Business Hours:
Mon - Fri 8:00am - 5:00pm Essential Functions Assist with tracking aircraft inspection status and forecasting inspection schedules Maintain aircraft in accordance with current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations Perform routine to complex aircraft maintenance activities including but not limited to oil and filter changes, tire maintenance, lightbulb and battery replacements and general aircraft servicing as well as performing aircraft weighing/major repairs/alterations Prepare logbook entries for inspections Mentor less-experienced Aircraft Maintenance Technician 1 and 2 technicians Must be willing to work overtime and work a flexible schedule if needed Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Must possess a minimum of 10 years relevant aviation maintenance experience OR equivalent combination of education / related military experience and/or aviation related experience Must possess an Aircraft Mechanics certificate with an Airframe and Powerplant rating Ability to perform inspections on small single and multiengine aircraft Ability to perform routine and complex maintenance items with no assistance / supervision Ability to troubleshoot and resolve routine discrepancies with limited assistance Ability to interpret simple wiring diagrams without assistance Demonstrate an understanding of Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Proficiency with towing and taxiing aircraft Ability to prepare required aircraft logbook entries for inspections Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency using Microsoft Office products Experience working within compliance of Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements Must possess the ability to routinely bend, twist, and lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs. while using safe lifting techniques; pushing/pulling equipment up to 200 lbs.; standing and sitting for extended periods of time; kneeling, stooping, crouching, and crawling; climbing and utilizing ladders to connect cables and walking long distances throughout the facility; repetitive motion Tolerates products, materials and fumes associated with aircraft maintenance; tolerates working in confined spaces and heights above four feet Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
