Boeing Defense, Space and Security is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Aircraft Technician to assemble, install, integrate, test, troubleshoot and repair aircraft electrical systems and mechanical components. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of aircraft systems, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced aviation environment. This position will support the Ridley Park, PA location.
Position Responsibilities:
Assemble and/or install partial or complete mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, pneumatic, electrical systems, and components in airframes. Install, connect, and troubleshoot systems in aircraft . Install auto flight, communication, navigation, and interphone equipment. Conduct functional inspections of all installed systems. Diagnose malfunctions and perform adjustments and repairs . Build major mechanical and electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies, using assembly drawings, specifications, shop orders, and precision measuring instruments . Validate/verify, test, maintain and repair aircraft electrical systems, wiring, avionics-related components and related equipment utilizing automatic checkout equipment as require d Repair or replace defective parts, wiring, connectors, hydraulic components and mechanical assemblie s Perform routine and scheduled service/maintenance on aircraft mechanical systems and component s Perform assembly operations; press and stake bearings and bushings, install and shim small gears, rig controls, and balance completed assemblies . Fabricate, swage, and install tubing, hoses, and master tube templates for production use; build temporary templates to check master contours, dimensions, and assemblies . Perform work in accordance with prints, specifications and other specified documents . Adhere to Company standards for safety, workmanship, FOD and good housekeeping practice . Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): High school diploma/GED and/or vocational/trade school training preferre d Ability to read and understand technical manuals, wiring diagrams and schematic s A minimum of 2 years' experience with aircraft wiring and systems installation and/or assemblies and subassemblie s Physical ability to lift, bend, climb and work in confined spaces or at heights as require d
Preferred Qualifications:
FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant (A&P) certification preferre d Experience with H47 Chinook avionics, electrical or mechanical system s Experience with rotorcraft platform s Previous work in aircraft assembly, maintenance, heavy maintenance or MRO environment s
Shift:
This position could be for 1st shift or 2nd shift This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location option.
Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Relocation:
This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
