North Charleston, South Carolina:
you walk onto the Boeing 787 production line, open detailed electronic work instructions, and prepare your toolkit. You interpret precise drawings, gather the exact fasteners and materials, and execute each operation with safety and quality at the forefront. By the time you clock out, a section of the Dreamliner airframe has moved one step closer to flight—because of you. We're adding experienced Aircraft Assembly Structures Mechanics (Level B or C) to our 787 team. If you thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and take pride in meticulous, procedure-driven work, you'll feel right at home here. What you'll do Live safety every minute: strictly follow safety protocols and embed safe practices into every task.
Deliver on quality:
hold workmanship to rigorous standards that meet or exceed regulatory and Boeing requirements. Complete new-hire foundational training and maintain all required certifications. Use computers confidently to navigate production systems and digital work instructions. Read and interpret electronic technical instructions, complex drawings, and specifications. Wear task-appropriate PPE at all times. Operate access equipment and lifts (including ladders, tiger lifts, and snorkel lifts). Work with a range of hand and diagnostic tools: screwdrivers, ratchets, power screwdrivers, multimeters, continuity testers, and more. Apply solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints, and specialty finishes. Self-inspect your work and remove any Foreign Object Debris (FOD). Work around energized sources (e.g., circuit breakers and wiring) and in environments with constant noise. Perform fine finger manipulation (including keyboarding). Lift and carry 10-35 pounds.
Manage physical demands:
climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), crawling, crouching/squatting. Use full range of motion as work requires: flexion/extension of head/neck, handling, kneeling, bending and twisting at the waist, reaching overhead, standing, walking. Assessment required
Aerospace Technician and Mechanic Aptitude Virtual Job Tryout :
To be considered, you must complete an assessment sent to the email address in your application. You'll have 5 days from the invitation date to finish it. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration. Basic qualifications Availability to work variable shifts (first, second, or third) based on business needs.
Ability to meet physical requirements:
flexion/extension (head bent down/back), handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching overhead, rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist, walking, climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), crawling, crouching/squatting. Ability to lift/carry 10-35 pounds. Comfort working with high-hazard chemicals while using company-provided PPE. Ability to complete and maintain Confined Space and Fall Protection certifications, if required. 1+ year using software such as internet tools, email, Microsoft Office Suite, and/or specialized production applications. 1+ year following detailed work instructions; reading/interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specs; and completing training and knowledge assessments (including math) in English. 1+ year in a manufacturing/technical/mechanical role (or equivalent military experience) using basic hand, power, and/or pneumatic tools. Preferred qualifications 3+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 1+ year working with composites. Where and how you'll work This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite.
Shift:
Variable shift (shift 4). Your initial shift is assigned at hire based on business need and remains until re-evaluated.
