  • Immediate Hiring; Relocation assistance available STI is seeking experienced Aircraft Mechanic II or III (Electrical) to support a newly awarded U.
S. Air Force contract at Laughlin AFB, TX. This is an opportunity to lead critical aircraft modification efforts on the T-6A Texan II fleet, directly supporting pilot training operations and aircraft modernization initiatives. Selected candidates will lead electrical modification teams performing installation of the Automatic Backup Oxygen System (ABOS) in accordance with
TCTO 1T-6A-876.
This role is ideal for experienced aircraft electricians who enjoy hands-on work, technical problem solving, and leading teams through complex aircraft modification projects. What You'll Do Lead aircraft maintenance personnel during T-6A modification activities Perform and oversee electrical TCTO installations and wiring modifications Install, repair, and route aircraft wiring harnesses and electrical components Interpret technical orders, engineering drawings, blueprints, and modification instructions Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with Air Force maintenance standards Operate and inspect support equipment (SE) Troubleshoot installation issues and coordinate technical solutions Document maintenance actions in aircraft logs and records Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior technicians Support simultaneous aircraft modification efforts to meet production schedules Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience Demonstrated experience installing electrical TCTOs or aircraft wiring modifications Experience with wiring harness installation and repair Previous experience serving as a lead aircraft electrician or maintenance lead Ability to read, interpret, and execute technical orders, blueprints, and engineering drawings Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Experience mentoring or guiding less experienced technicians Ability to identify unclear technical instructions and seek proper engineering guidance Preferred Experience T-6A Texan II experience Military aircraft modification programs Depot, field team, or contract field team (CFT) experience Air Force maintenance environment experience Compensation & Benefits Mech II ($39.58/hr); Mech III ($41.33/hr) Additional $5.55 per hour Health & Welfare benefit Unused Health & Welfare funds roll into a 401(k) at year-end Tools and toolkits provided Potential contract extension available Relocation assistance negotiable and discussed during the recruiting process Why Join This Program?
