Sierra West Airlines is seeking an experienced and motivated A&P Lead Mechanic to support our operations in El Paso, Texas. This role primarily supports our SA227 Metroliner cargo and Lear 60 Passenger fleet. We are looking for a strong leader who can support day-to-day maintenance operations while helping mentor and guide the team in a fast-paced Part 135 environment. SCHEDULE
Day Shift, Monday-Friday Additional after-hours support and callouts as operationally required
JOB DUTIES
Lead inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance activities on company aircraft Provide day-to-day leadership and support to maintenance personnel Assist with coordinating maintenance priorities and operational needs Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, maintenance manuals, blueprints, electrical schematics, company policies, and Federal Aviation Regulations Perform maintenance on ground support equipment as needed Support aircraft recovery activities as required Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions as necessary Take after-hours calls to assist in resolving maintenance-related issues when on call Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe & Powerplant ratings required Previous lead or supervisory maintenance experience required Minimum 5-7 years of aircraft maintenance experience preferred SA227 Metroliner or Learjet experience strongly preferred Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to efficiently return aircraft to service Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to work various shifts, overtime, and occasional after-hours callouts as operationally required Ability to travel for aircraft recovery or operational support if needed Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs., climb ladders, and maneuver around aircraft Valid driver's license required Passport and/or ability to obtain passport within 60 days of hire preferred Must be at least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the United States Successful completion of pre-employment DOT drug screening and applicable background checks Ability to obtain airport/SIDA badge if required
