Aircraft Mechanic - Training Support (Non-Flying Aircraft Systems)

DenMar Services Inc. Position Overview DenMar Services Inc. is seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic to support a Military Firefighter Training Program . This is not a traditional flightline maintenance position . The role focuses on maintaining non-flying, ground-based instructional aircraft (GITA), static aircraft, and training devices used in live-fire and emergency response training scenarios. This position is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude who understand that the mission centers on training realism, safety, and equipment functionality , rather than aircraft airworthiness or flight operations. Key Responsibilities Maintain and repair Ground Instructional Training Aircraft (GITA) , mock aircraft, and training devices Support live-fire training environments , ensuring equipment is safe and fully operational Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and modify training systems and support equipment Perform component replacement and system checks to maintain training effectiveness Document maintenance actions using AFTO Forms (781 series, 244) and electronic systems Operate Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) as required Maintain Air Force Museum historical exhibits in accordance with applicable standards Coordinate with Program Manager on scheduling, supply needs, and operational issues Ensure compliance with OSHA, AFOSH, and company safety standards Perform additional duties as assigned Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, mechanical systems, or similar equipment Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for mechanical and training systems Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and directives Professional communication skills and ability to work effectively with customers Ability to obtain required security clearance Valid state driver's license and ability to meet government licensing requirements Preferred Experience Experience supporting training environments or non-flight aircraft systems Familiarity with military maintenance documentation (AFTO Forms) Background in fire training support, ground equipment, or simulation systems Work Environment Outdoor and industrial environments, including live-fire training areas Exposure to heat, smoke, noise, and varying weather conditions Physically active role requiring lifting, climbing, and working in confined or elevated spaces May require shift work to support training schedules Important Note to Applicants This position does not involve traditional aircraft maintenance such as propulsion, avionics, sheet metal, or corrosion control.
