AIRCRAFT MECHANIC

• Title 32, WG-8852-12, you will act as the Aircraft Mechanic (Crew Chief) with responsibility for managing the operional readiness of one or more aircraft, and proficiency training of supported aviion unit personnel.

Responsibilities include detailed technical oversight of individual aircraft's level of mission capabilities and projection of maintenance requirements to maintain individual aircraft operional readiness. Requirements Help Conditions of employment

: Compible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective de of placement . This is an excepted service position th requires membership in a compible military assignment in the employing ste's Nional Guard. Conditions of Employment:

GENERAL EXPERIENCE

: Experience or training th has provided the candide with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specificions. Must be skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE

: To qualify for the WG-12 level, you must have least 18 months experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modificion. Experience coordining the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow. Must have the ability to instruct lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container.
