POSITION
Safety and Security Technician
REPORTS TO
Director of Operations
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent Valid Alabama driver's license Experience and familiarity with current technology Experience with troubleshooting and repairing technology equipment Working knowledge of and experience with various platforms Working knowledge of and experience with current online school safety platforms Knowledge of keyless entry safety systems High level of interpersonal skills; ability to be creative, flexible, persuasive and able to work cooperatively with people Additional consideration may be given to individuals with advanced certifications and/or degrees. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable
JOB GOAL
To support a safe and secure district-wide infrastructure, including support services and operational needs.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Works collaboratively with other support services. Services and maintains the system's inventory of fire alarms, cameras, vape detectors, entry code systems, and other equipment as needed. Assists in the installation, setup, maintenance and delivery to include, but not be limited to, public address systems, intercoms, recording devices, cameras, fire/safety equipment, vape detectors, and employee time clocks. Provides technical assistance to local schools and central office staff in a timely fashion. Maintains an efficient and professional work environment. Maintains a complete inventory of assigned tools, materials, software and equipment. Keeps current with educational developments in the field of technology and equipment related directly to areas of responsibility. Maintains proper and professional relationships with students and other employees. Performs duties in a manner that promotes good public relations. Be familiar with and follow Board of Education policies. Be regular and punctual in attendance. Attends pertinent training sessions as scheduled by the Director of Operations. Maintains confidentiality of any school system related business. Works with contractors relative to fire safety, alarms, camera installation, and intercom systems. Works in collaboration with the Maintenance Supervisor as necessary. Any other duties that may be assigned by the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent or Director of Operations. Uphold and enforce Talladega County Board of Education policy.
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Twelve Months. Salary to be established by the Board.
