This paid training position offers a unique opportunity to develop hands-on skills in fire and security alarm systems, CCTV, access control, and other low voltage electrical work. You will learn to install, service, and troubleshoot a wide range of low voltage systems while gaining valuable experience in field service operations. Duties Assist experienced technicians with the installation and maintenance of alarm systems, CCTV, access control , and sound systems. Support the setup of low voltage cabling, electrical connections, and power supplies using hand tools, power tools and ladders. Gain exposure to remote access software for system programming and troubleshooting. Help troubleshoot system issues by testing sensors, verifying wiring connections, and updating firmware or software as directed. Support the documentation process by recording system configurations, service reports, and inspection logs. Requirements Basic mechanical knowledge combined with an interest in electrical systems or construction work. Familiarity with computer networking concepts and telecommunication fundamentals is a plus. Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and ladders is required. Strong desire to learn about security systems including CCTV, alarms, access control, and similar technology. Ability to lift 50lbs, climb up ladders and into cramped spaces is required. Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude toward learning new skills on the job. Prior experience or knowledge in new construction, or cable management is preferred.
