is a licensed fire protection contractor (C-10/C-16) serving commercial and industrial clients throughout San Diego County. We install, inspect, test, and service life-safety systems that keep buildings and the people in them safe. We're a growing, family-owned company that takes pride in doing the job right — and we're looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. Position Summary We're seeking a hands-on, experienced Fire Alarm Technician who can independently inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and install fire alarm systems in the field. The ideal candidate knows fire alarm panels inside and out, can diagnose a problem, and communicates clearly with customers and the office. This is a role for someone who takes ownership of their work and the buildings they're responsible for protecting. What You'll Do
  • Perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA 72, California Code of Regulations Title 19, and applicable local codes
  • Troubleshoot and repair system faults, trouble signals, ground faults, and device-level failures
  • Install and wire fire alarm systems, devices, and panels on new and retrofit projects
  • Program and configure fire alarm control panels
  • Respond to service calls and emergency dispatches, diagnosing issues and restoring systems to full operation
  • Read and interpret riser diagrams, floor plans, and wiring schematics
  • Complete accurate inspection reports in a timely manner and documentation for each job
  • Communicate findings, deficiencies, and recommended repairs clearly to customers and to the office
  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance and represent Performance Fire well on every site What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial fire alarm systems
  • Working knowledge of
NFPA 72, NFPA
70, and California Title 19 / Title 24 requirements
  • Experience with major fire alarm platforms (e.g., Notifier, Silent Knight, Fire-Lite, Simplex, EST, Honeywell, or similar)
  • Ability to read riser diagrams, blueprints, and wiring schematics
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • able to work independently in the field
  • Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Reliable, professional, and customer-focused
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English Preferred (Not Required)
  • NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems (Level I, II, or III)
  • Low-voltage / C-10 electrical experience
  • Panel programming experience
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) Compensation & Benefits
