Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Alarm Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of security and alarm systems. Your expertise will ensure our clients' safety and security by delivering high-quality service with precision and professionalism. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge security technology, including CCTV, sensors, fire alarms, and access control systems, while providing exceptional field service to diverse clients. The ideal candidate is energetic, technically skilled, and passionate about delivering reliable security solutions. Responsibilities Install, configure, and test various alarm systems including fire alarms, security systems, CCTV surveillance, sensors, and access control devices. Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal system performance and compliance with safety standards. Troubleshoot system issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, and remote access software; repair or replace faulty components promptly. Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs and recommend appropriate system design solutions tailored to their environment. Document all service activities accurately in reports and logs; update system configurations as needed. Use hand tools and power tools safely to perform installations and repairs in construction or commercial settings. Maintain current knowledge of industry standards such as NEC (National Electrical Code) and evolving security technologies. Skills Strong understanding of computer networking principles essential for configuring networked security devices. Mechanical knowledge for installing physical components like sensors, locks, and surveillance cameras. Proven field service experience working on alarm systems, CCTV, fire alarms, and low voltage electrical systems. Proficiency with computer hardware setup, schematics interpretation, and remote access software troubleshooting. Knowledge of IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), sensors, surveillance equipment, and telecommunication wiring. Ability to read technical schematics accurately and follow electrical codes including NEC standards. Experience with cabling techniques for security systems installation in construction or retrofit projects. Familiarity with alarm system sales processes to assist in client consultations when applicable. Electrical experience related to power tools usage for system installation in various environments. Locksmithing skills are a plus for integrating physical access controls securely. Pay:
$28.97 - $34.89 per hour
