Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Fire Alarm, Access Control, Burglary, and Security Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of security systems including fire alarm systems, access control networks, burglar alarms, CCTV surveillance, and integrated security solutions. Your expertise will ensure the safety and security of our clients' facilities by delivering top-tier service with precision and professionalism. Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and test fire alarm systems, access control panels, burglar alarms, CCTV cameras, sensors, and related security hardware in accordance with industry standards and schematics. Perform routine maintenance, system upgrades, troubleshooting, and repairs on low voltage security systems to ensure optimal operation. Conduct site surveys to assess client needs; design system layouts considering building construction, electrical requirements, and network connectivity. Integrate security systems with computer networking and telecommunication infrastructure; utilize remote access software for diagnostics and system management. Interpret technical schematics and wiring diagrams; utilize hand tools and power tools to complete cabling and mechanical installations accurately. Collaborate with clients to provide system demonstrations, training on operation procedures, and support for alarm system sales initiatives. Maintain detailed service records, incident reports, system logs, and update asset protection documentation consistently. Stay current with industry advancements in IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), surveillance technology (CCTV), sensors, NEC standards (National Electrical Code), and other relevant regulations.
Requirements:
With residential, commercial and industrial construction work experience. Proven field service experience installing and servicing fire alarm systems, access control solutions, burglar alarms, CCTV surveillance systems, and related security hardware. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience in low voltage wiring, cabling techniques, schematics interpretation, and power tools operation. Familiarity with computer hardware components related to security systems as well as remote access software for troubleshooting remotely. Knowledge of system design principles for integrated security solutions including sensors (motion detectors, door/window contacts), alarms, locks (including locksmithing skills), and surveillance equipment. Experience working within construction environments or on projects requiring detailed schematics understanding; ability to read blueprints accurately. Valid service technician credentials or certifications related to fire alarm installation or security system maintenance are preferred. $45.00 - $65.00 per hour
