Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, and maintain fire alarm systems, access control panels, burglar alarms, and integrated security solutions across diverse client sites Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, system design documents, and CAD drawings to ensure precise system setup and integration Conduct construction inspections to verify proper installation practices aligning with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and safety regulations Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to perform system wiring, sensor placement, and hardware mounting with accuracy Perform system testing on sensors, low voltage wiring, fire sprinkler fittings, and electrical components to ensure optimal operation Provide field service support by diagnosing issues quickly and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime Collaborate with project teams on system design modifications and assist in alarm system sales or fire alarm sales efforts when needed Qualifications Proven experience as a service technician or installer in fire alarm, security systems, or related fields Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by electrical experience and familiarity with low voltage systems Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and CAD software for installation and troubleshooting tasks Knowledge of construction processes including inspection standards for fire sprinkler fitting and electrical wiring practices Familiarity with NEC standards governing low voltage wiring and sensor integration in security systems Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to system design adjustments and service support.
