Job Description
Qualifications Strong background in AutoCad required Ability to read and interpret fire alarm project drawings and specifications Knowledge of fire alarm and sprinkler systems is preferred Must have excellent writing and verbal communication skills Must be self-motivated, have strong organizational skills, a multi-tasker, reliable, self-determined and have excellent follow up skills Demonstrated ability to take initiative, use sound judgment and provide solutions to ensure results Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS NICET
certified or ability to achieve NICET level I in fire alarm systems within six (6) months of employment. Certification and/or diploma in drafting and AutoCAD. Responsibilities In this role you will design and generate shop drawings, as well as prepare technical submittals, RFI's and closeout documents Responsible for the layout and drafting of fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA codes, project specifications, and AHJ requirements. The design and/or drafting of fire life safety for commercial buildings Work closely with the CFD Project Managers and Account Executives to complete accurate designs and prepare submittals in a timely and professional manner Apply company standards to shop drawings Ability to read project contract drawings (i.e., Project Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection, Structural, Architect door schedules, and civil drawings) for design build fire alarm systems. Assist Sales and Project Managers in preparing project submittals, modifying the project drawings as per the mark ups. Use AutoCAD and other support tools (i.e., Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Excel) to create Maintain project drawing files, associated records and documentation in an orderly condition Resolve design problems through research of multiple alternatives Coordinate designs with other trades and building owners as needed to create a complete design Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics, and operational product manuals Identify and assist with suggested solutions for an efficient design Assist with all questions and concerns on the design in a timely and professional manner Effectively communicate project status to management Summary As a Fire Alarm Designer, you will utilize your expertise in schematics, system design, and electrical systems to create innovative fire alarm solutions. Proficiency in CAD software will be essential for drafting detailed plans. Your premium skills in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Revit will enhance your ability to design cutting-edge fire alarm systems. Additionally, your knowledge of electrical engineering and NEC codes will ensure compliance and safety. With a focus on PCB design, construction, and electrical wiring, you will contribute to the development of efficient and reliable fire alarm systems.
