Fire Alarm Designer oversees the design of various commercial fire alarm construction project designsWork very closely with Field Operations and CustomersAs a Full-Time Fire Alarm Designer, you will play a key role in crafting accurate CAD format packages for our fire alarm plansManaging multiple projects from inception to completion, ensuring they align with project hours and different construction phasesReviewing project scope, product specifications, and fire life safety code compliance for consistency with project specifications, AHJ requirements, and engineer/architect inputPreparing comprehensive system layouts, including floor plans, Bill of Materials (BOM), sequences of operations, riser diagrams, panel layouts, and calculationsUpdating plans based on field changes to create precise as-built drawingsMaintaining clear and consistent communication with external customers and internal teams regarding design updates, timelines, and approvalsUtilizing in-house printing resources to present your designs professionallyTaking on additional assignments as delegated by our Operations teamOther duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
High school diplomaMinimum 3 years of experience in fire alarm systemsExperience operating AutoCad - working with floor plans(2D), working blocks, working with external references, working with page setups.

Experience with MS Office Suite (Word & Excel) and AdobeStrong verbal and written communication skillsEmpathy and problem-solving skills for customer and employee satisfactionFamiliarity with NFPA 72 for Fire Life Safety CodeAbility to read architectural, mechanical, and electrical plansStrong organizational skills for time management
Preferred Qualifications:
Two-year technical degree in related studiesMinimum 3+ years of experience in fire alarm systemsExperience operating AutoCad and BlueBeamUnderstanding of Fire Alarm Systems how it interfaces with other traits NICET or other certifications in the special systems industryProfessional demeanor and positive outlook
Essential Job Functions:
Be able to lift and carry drawings, personal computers, material, etc. Be able to lift up to 50lbs.

Maintain a satisfactory driving record which, per Climatecs vehicle policy, allows the individual to drive on company business. Be physically able to kneel, stoop and crawl.
