About the Role Premier Fire Alarms is seeking a skilled and motivated Fire Alarm Service Technician with a minimum of 5 - 10years of hands-on experience in fire alarm systems or a closely related trade (security, building automation, high voltage, etc.). In this role, you will work alongside a team of experienced professionals, contributing your expertise to the installation of fire alarm detection systems. All work must meet applicable safety codes and standards. Our work spans Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties — keeping you close to home without long-distance travel.
Project types include:
Commercial and residential high-rise buildings New construction installations Retrofits and upgrades to existing systems Upfits and remodels within occupied facilities This position is an integral part of our existing service crews. New hires are paired with experienced team members during onboarding to support learning, confidence, and long-term success. Troubleshoot, test, and repair faulty fire alarm panels, wiring, and devices (e.g., strobes, horns, and detectors).Code Compliance:
Ensure all installations and inspections comply with strict regulations, specifically the NFPA 72 and NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards.Team Leadership:
Oversee and mentor junior technicians on job sites, manage daily work orders, and assign tasks to ensure projects are completed on time.Documentation:
Prepare accurate detailed reports for inspections, service calls, and maintenance logs.Client Interaction:
Explain system functionality, discuss necessary repairs, and provide emergency response procedures to facility managers and clientsRequired Qualifications Experience:
Typically 5 to 10 years of dedicated experience in the fire alarm, low-voltage, or life safety industry.Certifications:
NICET:
Certifications (Level II or higher) in Fire Alarm Systems are highly preferred and often required.State Licensing:
Specific state or local licenses (such as theBASA/FASA
certification required in states like Florida for alarm systems).Technical Skills:
Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, architectural blueprints, and fire system design drawings.Physical & Work Requirements:
Comfort working at heights (ladders and scaffolding), in confined spaces, and holding a valid driver's license with a clean driving record Able to take turn on rotation for afterhours calls. Participate in ongoing company-provided safety training programs to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and your team Customer & Team Interaction Communicate professionally and courteously with customers and fellow employees at all times Represent Premier Fire Alarms with a commitment to quality, integrity, and customer satisfaction Support fellow crew members and contribute to a positive, high-performance team culture Minimum Qualifications & RequirementsAPPLICANTS MUST MEET ALL REQUIREMENTS BELOW BEFORE APPLYING
