Fire Alarm Technician (NICET Preferred)

Job Description CityTel is a leading low-voltage contractor in Southwest Florida specializing in fire alarm systems, life safety systems, structured cabling, access control, and surveillance systems . We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician / Fire Alarm Installer / Fire Alarm Service Technician to support our growing commercial projects and service division. Preferred Manufacturer Experience Hands-on experience with leading fire alarm systems, including: Potter, Honeywell, Silent Knight, Fire-Lite, Notifier, Siemens, Edwards (EST), Simplex Key Responsibilities Install, program, inspect, and service commercial fire alarm systems Perform fire alarm troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair Conduct fire alarm inspections and testing per NFPA 72 standards Interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, wiring schematics, and submittals Install and terminate fire alarm panels, devices, and low-voltage cabling Ensure compliance with local AHJ codes, NEC, and NFPA regulations Complete service tickets, inspection reports, and closeout documentation Provide customer support and technical guidance on fire alarm systems Work on new construction, tenant buildouts, and retrofit projects Participate in after-hours, weekend, and on-call service rotations as needed to support emergency service calls and system outages Required Qualifications Valid driver's license (clean driving record) Ability to pass background, drug, and driving screenings 2+ years of experience in fire alarm installation, service, or inspections Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, wiring, and troubleshooting Must meet all of the above requirements, candidates who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered Preferred Qualifications NICET Certification (Level I, II, or III - Fire Alarm Systems) Experience with addressable and conventional fire alarm systems Knowledge of low voltage systems, BDA/DAS, and integrated life safety systems Familiarity with IP-based fire alarm systems and networking basics (TCP/IP) Strong skills in troubleshooting, programming, and commissioning Excellent communication, documentation, and customer service skills
