In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems across various commercial and industrial sites. Your expertise will ensure that fire detection and alarm systems operate flawlessly, safeguarding lives and property. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, collaborate with construction and service teams, and develop your skills in fire safety systems. Your proactive approach and technical proficiency will help us uphold the highest standards of safety and compliance. Responsibilities Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair fire alarm systems in accordance with industry standards and local codes Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, system design documents, and electrical diagrams to ensure accurate installation and maintenance Conduct construction inspections to verify proper system integration within building infrastructure Ensure all work meets NEC and NFPA 72 standards Perform routine field service visits for system testing, calibration of sensors, and troubleshooting alarms or faults Collaborate with fire sprinkler fitters, electrical contractors, and construction teams to coordinate system integration Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized testing equipment safely and effectively during all phases of work Verify integrity of all work prior to tying-in to building's fire alarm system. This may include functionality testing of installed devices, metering circuits and devices for shorts, grounds and faults. Repair as needed to ensure a fully compliant system operation. Requirements Proven experience as a fire alarm technician or service technician in the fire safety industry Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience related to low voltage systems Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to fire alarm systems Familiarity with fire alarm sensors, control panels, annunciators, and alarm system sales processes Knowledge of construction practices including inspection procedures for new installations or upgrades Experience working with fire sprinkler fitting or other life safety systems is a plus Understanding of NEC regulations governing low voltage wiring and electrical safety standards Excellent communication skills to coordinate with clients, contractors, and team members effectively A minimum of 2 years of Fire Alarm industry experience is required.
