This role focuses on the "rough-in" phase of construction, ensuring all wiring for future integrated systems is installed neatly, safely, and in strict accordance with building codes. The successful candidate will work in dynamic construction environments, progressively gaining technical knowledge of wiring standards, construction plans, and industry safety practices. Most entry level prewire techs go on to become lead prewire techs, installation techs, lead installation techs, and beyond. About Visual Acoustics We are Visual Acoustics. Performance Objectives Assist Lead Technician:
Work hand-in-hand with the Lead Prewire Tech to complete all daily prewire tasks within designated project timelines.Rough-In Installation:
Complete the installation of all LV wiring, including security, audio/video, and data, prior to the installation of drywall.Code Compliance:
Ensure all wiring installations are compliant with applicable electrical and building codes to guarantee passing "rough" building inspections.Wiring Neatness:
Maintain high industry standards by installing all wiring neatly and according to VA color-coding standards.Plan Interpretation:
Learn to accurately interpret and execute instructions from construction plans and technical drawings.Safety Adherence:
Maintain 100% compliance with OSHA guidelines and industry-accepted safety practices on active construction sites.Equipment Management:
Safely and effectively utilize tools such as ladders, stud punches, and wire pullers.Site Coordination:
Work effectively alongside other tradesmen in a fast-paced, "rough" construction environment.Knowledge Acquisition:
Actively gain proficiency in wiring types, functions, and standard construction material.Timeline Management:
Follow the construction schedule strictly to prevent project delays.Waste Management:
Ensure appropriate disposal of materials and maintain a clean workstation at various project addresses.Core Value Representation:

High School Diploma or equivalent.Experience:
This is an entry-level position; however, a foundational knowledge of construction standards, materials, and the use of hand/power tools is required. Prior experience in a construction or technical trade environment is preferred but not mandatory. Current State Driver's License & Clean Driving Record required. Experience working with team members across multiple functional roles. Physical Requirements The candidate must be able to perform physically demanding tasks in active construction environments. This includes the ability to climb ladders and stand on ladders for extended periods. The role requires working in areas with exposed concrete and open framing, necessitating steady balance and coordination. Candidates must be able to lift and maneuver tools and materials such as wire spools and PVC conduits throughout the workday (p. 1). Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing, sitting, or walking. Ability to work in enclosed environments exposed to excessive noise, and cold or heat. Must be able to lift at least 25lbs.
