Job Description
Position Summary:
The CAD Drafter is responsible for working with Sales and Engineering departments to provide drafting of life safety, fire alarm, suppression systems, access control, CCTV and security systems, commensurate to the needs of the company.Essential Functions:
Have proficient knowledge in current codes such as NFPA, UBC, UFC and the principles and practices of fire protection engineering. Work with the Sales and Technical staff to interpret project specifications and drawings, determining system layout. Have proficient knowledge in the use of AutoCAD for the purpose of drafting and application of fire alarm, suppression systems, access control, CCTV and security systems. Have proficient knowledge of the product lines and related parts used by Red Hawk. Perform to a professional standard for accurate, neat, error free work, as determined by the department manager. Complete requests in accordance with sound business practices and general corporate policies. Review individual drawings to ensure completeness and accuracy of work performed. Understand and utilize company-drafting procedures. Actively participate in personal and professional development and maintain knowledge of current and new technologies that the company offers. Promote a team environment, assisting other Design Engineers/drafters with their projects. Performs other related duties as required and/or assigned by Red Hawk Management Qualifications - External Minimum Qualifications (Education, Skills & Experience): Proficient knowledge in current codes such as NFPA, UBC, UFC and the principles and practices of fire protection engineering. Proficient knowledge in the use of AutoCAD for the purpose of engineering and application of fire alarm, suppression systems, access control, CCTV and security systems. Have proficient knowledge of the product lines and related parts used by Red Hawk AA - Associates degree from an accredited College or University, technical school or equivalent combination of education and related field experience Possess a working knowledge of low voltage communications systems Must have two (2) years' experience with AutoCAD Must demonstrate Computer literacy, including such programs as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and AutoCAD Must possess superior interpersonal skills and be a team player Must demonstrate competency in advanced fire alarm design (High-rise, Smoke control, Voice, etc) Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust to shifting priorities We will conduct background and drug test, valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.For further information, please review the Know Your Rights (https://www.eeoc.gov/poster) notice from the Department of Labor.
