Job Description

Job Description Position Overview The ESS Technician is responsible for supporting all Electronic Security Systems (ESS) maintenance activities at Fort Benning. This role focuses on the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of security and low-voltage systems to ensure full operational functionality and compliance with DoD and Army standards. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on ESS components, including: Access control systems (badge readers, panels, door hardware) CCTV / video surveillance systems Intrusion detection systems (IDS) Pull, route, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling (data, voice, and security) Install conduit, junction boxes, and system panels per project specifications Diagnose and resolve system malfunctions across: Access control Surveillance systems Fire alarms and related security infrastructure Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to support maintenance and system upgrades Conduct system testing, inspections, and performance checks to ensure compliance with site requirements Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities and service records Ensure all work complies with OSHA safety standards and base-specific protocols Maintain a clean, safe work environment and proper tool/equipment handling Collaborate with internal teams, site leadership, and customers to ensure system performance and satisfaction We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
