Position Overview:
As a Low Voltage Technician , you'll be responsible for installing, testing, and repairing advanced security and camera systems, while ensuring that all installations meet industry standards and local codes. In this role, you'll work both individually and as part of a team, supporting clients with their security needs while contributing to a high level of service and satisfaction. We're seeking someone with a passion for technology, a strong attention to detail, and a customer-focused attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, Test, and Repair Security Systems:
Install, test, and repair advanced security and camera systems, ensuring they function properly and meet client specifications.
Install Fire and Access Control Systems:
Install, test, and inspect basic fire alarm and access control systems, ensuring they meet safety standards.
Client Consultation:
Collaborate with clients to assess system requirements, provide system recommendations, and offer cost estimates.
System Installation:
Use provided specifications, blueprints, and building layouts to install systems in compliance with industry standards.
Efficient Wiring and Equipment Installation:
Install wiring and equipment efficiently and professionally to ensure long-lasting functionality.
Service and Maintenance:
Service, test, and inspect advanced security, camera systems, and basic fire and access control systems, making necessary adjustments and repairs.
Compliance:
Ensure all systems are installed in compliance with industry standards and local codes.
System Demonstration:
Explain and demonstrate system functionality to end users to ensure proper understanding and use.
Continuous Learning:
Participate in ongoing product training, continuing education, and preparation for NICET Level I or II certification.
Safety and Standards Adherence:
Follow Acom's safety guidelines and standards, ensuring the highest quality and safety in installations.
Travel:
Some travel may be required for installation and service visits. What You Bring to the
Team:
Proven Experience:
Knowledge of advanced security and camera system installation with at least 2 years of experience in the low voltage field.
Technical Expertise:
General understanding of routers, switches, and Wi-Fi setup, and familiarity with industry standards and local codes.
Analytical Skills:
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems.
Blueprint Reading:
Ability to interpret blueprints and building plans to ensure correct system installation.
Customer Service Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to consult with clients and provide solutions.
Licensing:
Valid driver's license and the ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Certifications:
ABAT (Level 1 & 2 Tech) Certification, NICET Level 1-2 Certification, and manufacturer-specific certifications for CCTV and access control systems.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing both A-frame and extension ladders. Ability to lift 60-75 lbs. Willingness to work in attics, under houses, and in extreme temperatures (hot and cold). Must be able to install system hardware and wiring in various environments.
