Clean workspace maintenance Local building codes Working on construction projects 2 years National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies Full Job Description Wiginton Fire Systems is currently seeking experienced individuals for the role of Fire Alarm Installer at our Atlanta (Norcross) office. This position is focused on the installation of new fire alarm systems in commercial and industrial environments.
Position Summary:
Install, assemble, and wire fire alarm systems in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and applicable codes. This role is hands-on in the field and plays a critical part in delivering high-quality installations on time and to standard.
Key Responsibilities:
Install fire alarm systems, including conduit, wiring, devices, and control panels Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents Perform rough-in and trim-out phases of installation on active job sites Ensure all installations meet NFPA 72 , local codes, and company standards Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and other trades on-site Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Identify and communicate installation issues or changes in the field Support system testing and final inspections as needed Provide direction and mentorship to helpers and junior installers
Experience, Education, Skills Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum of 2+ years of experience installing fire alarm systems (required) Experience running conduit, pulling wire, and installing low voltage devices Ability to read and understand construction drawings and wiring diagrams Strong work ethic with attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, climbing, and working outdoors
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with commercial fire alarm installations Familiarity with major fire alarm systems (Notifier, Simplex, Edwards, etc.) NICET Certification (Fire Alarm Systems)
