This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your expertise in alarm system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting across diverse environments. As a subcontractor, you'll work independently to install, configure, and service a wide range of security systems, including fire alarms, CCTV surveillance, sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and access control systems. Your technical skills and mechanical knowledge will help ensure safety and security for our clients while providing flexible project opportunities that match your skill set. You must have at least 4 years of sub contract alarm experience. Duties Install, configure, and test alarm systems such as fire alarms and security alarms in commercial and residential settings. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to ensure precise system setup. Conduct cabling and wiring for low voltage systems using hand tools and power tools while adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Troubleshoot system issues on-site using remote access software or direct inspection; perform repairs or adjustments as needed. Ensure all installations comply with local building codes, safety regulations, including NEC standards, and client specifications. Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs; provide system demonstrations and basic training on system operation. Maintain detailed records of installations, service reports, schematics updates, and inventory of hardware components. Experience Proven experience as a service technician or installer specializing in security systems such as alarms, CCTV surveillance, sensors, or low voltage electrical systems. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools for cabling and equipment installation. Familiarity with computer networking concepts relevant to security systems including remote access software and network configuration. Knowledge of fire alarm systems, surveillance technology (CCTV), IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), security system design principles, and schematics interpretation. Electrical experience related to low voltage wiring, cabling techniques, and adherence to NEC standards is highly desirable. Experience working in construction environments or on-site installation projects that require adherence to safety protocols.
