Job Description

Overview We are seeking experienced Commercial Service and Install Technicians with a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in security, fire alarm, and low voltage systems. Preference will be given to candidates holding NICET Level III certification, demonstrating advanced technical expertise and commitment to excellence. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of security and fire alarm systems in commercial environments as well as IP cameras systems and access control systems . Your expertise will ensure our clients' safety and operational efficiency are maximized through precise system design and effective field service delivery. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects that challenge your mechanical, electrical, and networking skills while providing exceptional service to our valued customers. There will be some lift work so employee must be comfortable working on a lift. Duties Install, configure, and troubleshoot security systems including CCTV, sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), alarms, access control, and fire alarm systems in commercial settings. Conduct system testing and commissioning to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards such as NEC (National Electrical Code). Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately implement system designs. Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on low voltage systems utilizing hand tools and power tools efficiently. Manage cabling infrastructure for security, telecommunication, and electrical systems ensuring neatness and adherence to safety protocols. Utilize remote access software for diagnostics, system monitoring, and troubleshooting remotely when applicable. Collaborate with construction teams during new installations or renovations to integrate security systems seamlessly into building infrastructure. Provide exceptional field service support by diagnosing issues on-site quickly and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime. Engage in alarm system sales consultations by assessing client needs and recommending appropriate security solutions. Maintain detailed documentation of all installations, repairs, schematics updates, and service reports for record keeping and future reference. Commercial installations working on a lift, must be willing and able to use a lift. Requirements Minimum of five years' experience as a service technician specializing in security systems or low voltage installations. NICET Level III certification or higher is strongly preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered. Strong knowledge of computer networking principles related to security systems integration. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and construction materials safely and effectively. Proficiency in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and system design documents. Experience with CCTV surveillance equipment, sensors (motion detectors), IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), fire alarm systems, access control devices, and related hardware. Familiarity with remote access software for troubleshooting networked security devices remotely. Electrical experience including cabling practices compliant with NEC standards; knowledge of low voltage wiring is essential. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; willingness to travel locally for field service appointments. Pay:
$25.58 - $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 38.0 - 45.0 per week
