Job Description

Overview At
AMERICAN SYSTEMS
, we support mission-critical programs that protect national security. We are seeking a Construction Surveillance Technician (CST) to support secure construction activities at sensitive facilities by monitoring construction personnel, enforcing security procedures, identifying potential vulnerabilities, and maintaining detailed documentation in accordance with government and site-specific security requirements. Responsibilities Support Site Security Manager (SSM) and Special Security Representative (SSR) functions, as assigned. Serve as the SSM/SSR in the absence of the primary designated individual, when required. Conduct daily inspections of secured and unsecured areas throughout the worksite. Monitor construction activity to ensure all personnel visibly display required identification and badges and only access authorized areas. Provide continuous surveillance of construction personnel during on-site work activities. Maintain daily security logs for all workers entering and exiting the worksite. Operate inspection and surveillance equipment in support of site security requirements. Apply working knowledge of construction disciplines, including civil, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems . Review and interpret construction plans, drawings, and blueprints to understand the intended use of spaces and systems and identify anomalies, inconsistencies, or potential security concerns. Apply knowledge of Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) , construction security principles, and methods or devices that could be used for clandestine surveillance. Prepare clear, detailed written reports in English documenting findings, incidents, analyses, and security-related observations. Maintain accurate daily logs and records throughout each shift or tour of duty. Promptly report security concerns, suspicious activity, and procedural violations to the appropriate site security authority. Comply with all site safety, security, and reporting requirements. Qualifications Active TS/SCI clearance required. U.S. citizenship required for the purpose of obtaining and maintaining a U.S. security clearance. Ability to make independent decisions, exercise sound judgment, demonstrate a high degree of initiative, and work with minimal supervision. 3-5 years of security experience related to one or more of the following areas:

construction intelligence operations counterintelligence operations countersurveillance operations Technical Surveillance Countermeasures ( TSCM ) physical security Knowledge of and experience with security documentation related to SCIF and SAPF construction and accreditation . 3-5 years of experience working as a Construction Surveillance Technician (CST). 3-5 years of experience working as a Cleared American Guard (CAG). Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical documents . Strong observation, documentation, and report-writing skills. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with site personnel, security staff, and leadership. Regular and predictable attendance is essential. Physical and Work Environment Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while at the worksite. Ability to stand for up to 8 hours during a shift. Ability to work outdoors in all seasons and in active construction environments. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds as needed. Preferred Qualifications Active Construction Surveillance Technician (CST) certification preferred. Site Security Manager training or certification desired. Prior experience supporting secure or classified construction projects in government, military, or contractor environments. Familiarity with
SCIF/SAPF
